Woodstock, Georgia – The EOD Warrior Foundation will be hosting a special event for wine enthusiasts. The Wine Makers Dinner will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Eagle Watch Clubhouse, located at 3055 Eagle Watch Drive in Woodstock, Georgia. The special fundraising event will feature unique wines from EOD Cellars and Tackitt Family Vineyards, both produced by Leon and Cindy Tackitt, owners of Tackitt Family Vineyard, out of Paso Robles, Calif. The night will also include a five-course gourmet dinner, live music, and explained pairings throughout the meal from vintner Leon Tackitt.

“If you appreciate fine wine, you don’t want to miss this event,” explains Nicole Motsek, executive director of the EOD Warrior Foundation. “It’s going to be a unique opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal with specially paired wines, while learning from the wine maker himself, all for a great cause.”

The Wine Makers Dinner will be prepared by JonPaul Pelotte, the renowned executive chef at the Eagle Watch Club. The menu for the evening will include:

  • Passed hors d’ oeuvres – Tuna poke, olive tapenade in a phyllo cup, southwest salmon, blue corn chips, avocado
  • First course – Harvest salad featuring anjou pear, goat cheese, toasted pumpkin seed, spring mix, and topped with raspberry vinaigrette

  • Third course – Red wine braised short rib, leek pudding, and pan jus lie
  • Fourth course – Seasonal berries with Chantelle cream and a flaky crust

“This is guaranteed to be a memorable event where you will not only have time to speak with a great wine maker, but you will taste unique flavors, enjoy wonderful music, a beautiful venue, and most importantly an opportunity to raise a glass in supporting EOD Warriors who have sacrificed so much for our freedom,” added Motsek. “Whether you come alone or with friends it will be a great time.”

The specialty wine label is called EOD Cellars, and includes a variety of reds, whites, and box sets. Proceeds from every bottle sold are donated back to the EOD Warrior Foundation. The EOD Warrior Foundation is an organization that helps the families of the 7,000 people in our military who are Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians, and perform bomb disposal duties. Engaging in the most dangerous job in the military, EOD technicians often sustain serious injuries, lose limbs, or are killed in action. The EOD Warrior Foundation helps this elite group by providing financial relief, therapeutic healing retreats, a scholarship program, care of the EOD Memorial Wall located at Eglin AFB, Fla. and more. Their work is supported by private donations and the generosity of those who support the organization.
