The festival will begin at  10 a.m. at Jersey City Hall  (280 Grove Street) with the  first-ever Hudson River Fitness Color Walk.   Attendees will enjoy soothing live music, yoga and dance workshops from premier health professionals and organizations. Participants will also smear each other with colors at the start of the walk, participate in a color countdown and make their way along the Hudson waterfront with friends/family to dance with the live dhol (drum beats) and Surati’s Bhangra team.

The walk will end at Pier A Park in Hoboken, where the waterfront Spring festival celebrations will begin at 12 noon featuring color play, color countdowns, live performances, food vendors, a children’s zone, two performance stages, DJ, dancing, cabana style tents, a cash bar and drink specials.

T-shirts, color-packets and water are included for registered walkers. On-site registrations at Jersey City Hall will begin at 8:30 am.   The general public can register for the Jersey City Color Walk online at  www.suratiholihai.org . The Festival of Colors in Hoboken is FREE for everyone.

Media Check-In will take place between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the media registration table in front of Jersey City Hall. Media is also invited to attend and cover the festival at any time during the day!

“What I love about our festival is that it is attended by all, irrespective of their cultural backgrounds or nationalities, thus spreading the message of love, brotherhood, acceptance and peace,” said Rimli Roy, Founder & Artistic Director of Surati Performing Arts. “By promoting the arts and culture of India, Surati Holi Hai is growing to become the tri-state’s most talked-about, meaningful and unique celebration of the Spring Festival of Colors.”

"When everyone is colorful, no one is different," states Surati's motto, celebrating equality and brotherhood across boundaries. Today, Surati Holi Hai is possibly the United States', and definitely the East Coast's, most popular family-friendly cultural festival, having attracted more than 12,000 people in 2018, who registered from 22 U.S states and six countries around the world.

Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty, Consul General of India in New York, also shared:

Holi, the festival of color, has become a truly international festival. People all over the world enjoy celebrating Holi, as it fosters love, compassion, understanding and brotherhood. We are delighted that Surati has, over the last few years, been organizing Holi with participation of the larger community of New York and New Jersey, enlightening the people about the cultural traditions of India. We, in the Consulate, are happy to partner with Surati and are confident that this year the participation will exceed all expectations and set a new record.
